Agreement

These Terms govern your use of ShopHop (shophop.au), operated by a sole trader based in Brisbane, Australia. By using the site or related apps and APIs we make available to consumers, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use ShopHop.

Data accuracy disclaimer (important)

ShopHop displays supermarket prices and related product information sourced from publicly visible online listings published by retailers (including Woolworths, Coles and Aldi). That information:

may differ from the price you see in a physical store, at a particular location, or at checkout;
may be incomplete, out of date, or wrong because retailer sites change, region, or stock;
may lag real-world changes until our next successful data refresh (typically on a daily cadence, not real time);
is provided for general information only.

All prices, history charts, comparisons, “specials,” unit prices, and similar figures are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose, to the maximum extent permitted by Australian law (including the Australian Consumer Law, which may confer non-excludable rights).

ShopHop is not financial, legal, or consumer-law advice. Nothing on the site is a recommendation to buy or not buy a product, or a finding that a retailer has broken the law.

Fake-special and integrity indicators

Features that classify or flag promotions (including “fake special” style indicators, was-price checks, and integrity reports) are informational only. They are based on ShopHop's observed online price history and automated rules. They are not legal findings, ACCC determinations, court outcomes, or accusations of wrongdoing. Always verify current prices with the retailer before you buy. See our Methodology for how classifications are produced.

What ShopHop provides

We provide tools to browse and compare publicly listed grocery prices, view history where we have it, set optional alerts, and read editorial or methodology content. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features without notice.

Accounts and acceptable use

If you create an account, you must provide accurate details and keep your login secure. You must not:

scrape, overload, or circumvent rate limits or security controls;
misrepresent ShopHop data as an official retailer feed or legal opinion;
use the service for unlawful purposes or to harass others;
attempt to access non-public admin or intelligence systems without authorisation.

Affiliate links

Some “Buy” or retailer links are affiliate links. If you click through and purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not change listed prices on ShopHop and do not mean a retailer pays us to alter integrity classifications.

Intellectual property

ShopHop branding, software, and original content are owned by us or our licensors. Retailer names, logos, and product images remain the property of their owners. You may not copy our site for a competing service without permission.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from reliance on prices or classifications on ShopHop, including purchase decisions, travel to a store, or differences between online and in-store prices. Where liability cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, it is limited to resupplying the services or paying the cost of resupply, at our option.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service or breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Courts in Queensland have non-exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any non-excludable consumer rights you have elsewhere in Australia.
